The house is located in a suburb outside of a protected coastal state park. Its form creates a link between the Pacific and the coastal mountain range.

The form of the house is both compact, protecting it from harsh weather, and elongated facing coastal views. The pitched roof echoes the profiles of the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains.

The program is arranged along the north-south axis. The position and sizing of each of the square windows is carefully considered. The undivided openings give the different spaces of the house quiet framed views of the surrounding landscape.
